My Friday Nights

My Friday nights are great.  I spend them working at the studio I take classes at.  The ATS ladies have classes that night and I love, love, love ATS.  ATS is American Tribal Style bellydance founded by the magnificent Carolina Nericcio of FatChance Bellydance of San Fransisco.  It is so energetic, graceful, powerful and fun.

Aren't they great!  Our teacher's are just as great.  I work there to pay for my classes and the type of bellydance I do is ITS, Improvasational Tribal Style.  It is much like ATS but there are differences.  I love to dance and with 4 kids and being a stay at home mommy, it helps keep my sanity and makes me a happy mommy.

Jayden's birthday party January 15

My baby is 2, my baby is 2, Happy Birthday baby Jayden.  Mommy loves you.
Jayden was born on January 16, 2010.  He is the last of the 4 and he is a total angel.  He has been the perfect baby is all aspects.  Two days prior to his birthday, I was totally stressing out and trying to get the house clean, or at least decent for company.  We live in a tiny house and keeping it clean is about impossible with no one picking up after themselves.  You would think that the husband and two oldest could do that but they don't.  I read somewhere "cleaning house with kids at home is like shoveling snow while its still snowing".  Which is so true.  Well as luck would have it, I got it done in time and as I was leaving to pick up the cake, our guests were arriving.  Haha  My niece and her boyfriend came over as well as my oldest daughter's best friend and some neighbors.  We barbequed hamburgers and brats.  Jayden had fun and of course Brandon was jealous of the attention and gifts Jayden was recieving.  All in all, despite all the frustrations of getting a party ready, it was a good day filled with full bellies, good friends and family and great kids.

new years resolution

My son on the day of his birth. 1-16-2010

This is two weeks late but my resolution is to dance more at home ie: practicing and to write more.  I used to write all the time in the old fashioned diaries and found it to be very theraputic, so let's see if the new way is just as theraputic.  Tomorrow or actually later today, I will share how my son's birthday went and a story and blog that made my heart and soul break.  I would share it tonite but as it is, I haven't been able to stop crying for hours now.  It made every single mommy dna in my body and soul scream out in pain. Heart wrenching pain, for mommy, baby, and the entire family.

Anxiety Over First Day of School

So this year is my oldest son starts kindergarten.  I have been worried all summer that he will behave and not get kicked out.  You see, he is a handful.  When I was pregnant with his brother, I was depressed most of the pregnancy.  I did not want another child like him.  Oh don't get me wrong, he is a sweet  and loving kid but he is strong-willed, defiant and very, very energetic.  Cried and hardly slept through the first 4 years of life.  He had totally worn me out by the age of three.  There have been plenty of times people have asked me, "have you had him checked out by the doctor for ADD/AHDD?" my response "no".  The energizer bunny wouldn't go to bed until 10 p.m. then he would get up at 3 or 4 a.m. and he would go, go, go all day long.  I was/am tired.  So I was/am anxious about him starting school had having to sit and listen most of the day.  When he was 4 I got his bright idea to homeschool preschool to help him get ready for kindergarten and have that school structure already instilled.  Did not work out as I planned.  He really enjoyed it for only about 10 minutes a day.  I personally thought I should have got the kindergarten curriculum because the preschool just seemed to easy.  He would get bored and want to do something else.

Present Day- Day 10 of Kindergarten.  So far, so good.  No phone calls from the school and he comes home totally exhausted.  Every morning he asks me every five minutes, "is it time for school?"  He seems to really enjoy it and I will keep praying I don't get a call from the principal.
